My name is Dave Mark. My wife, Wendy, and I serve as the Regional Coordinators for Latin America and the Caribbean for the the Department of World Mission of the Evangelical Covenant Church. In our work, we have regular contact with the finest people on earth; missionaries, church leaders, relief and development workers and all sorts of "salt of the earth" people who are doing their best to love God and seek their neighbor's good. We are truly honored by the people who have allowed us into their life.
We live in Miami and travel extensively throughout the region we serve. We average about 15 days per month in another country. It is a wonderful experience for us and stretches our minds and hearts on a regular basis.
Over time, I have gotten into the habit of "thinking on paper", that is, wrestling with feelings, thoughts and ideas by writing them down. The process helps me clarify things. Some folks have told me that my writing has also helped them sort things out (even when they don't agree with me), so they encouraged me to develop this web site specifically as a way to wrestle together with understanding God's mission in the world and our part in it. Through it all, to God be the glory.
For those who want to know, I was born in 1946. You can do the math from there.
